| Bio: | I'm a bit of an amateur linguist. I currently speak four languages, English, Telugu, and some Spanish and Hebrew, can read and write Devanagari script, am in the process of learning Arabic and Sanskrit, and am planning on learning Hindi and French. At one point in time, I taught myself Quenya (although I remember next to nothing of it now). I adore the Mahabharata to a rather humorous extent. Case in point, two of my Top 10 Things to Do Before I Die are to become an ambidextrous archer and to singlehandedly engineer a world war. Failing that, the destruction of a country or two or the founding of an impregnable island nation will suffice. Said impregnable island nation will not be submerged in the ocean upon my tragic demise. I've also got a thing for Indian Classical Dance, in all its forms. I learned Bharatanatyam up to arangetram level (in 2003), but any classical dance or music is enough to send me off into a haze of talam-finding and nostalgia. All of my jokes about world wars, destruction, and human suffering aside, in ten years, you will probably find me working somewhere in the Middle East, Africa, or India with UNICEF, the WHO, or a similar organization. Call it a family tradition, if you will. I'll probably end up as the person whom you will see in a few years on CNN as the subject of a "This woman was chased out of [insert random Middle-eastern country here] by a group of militants today" sort of story. Of course, I could also be the stereotypical evil queen whose evil minions have infiltrated the world... yes... I think I like that. | |||||
